Moss of Ancients

This work is an audiovisual exploration of sound and, occasionally, movement. The organic textural audio is largely improvisational and ranges from acoustic to electronic sources of instrumentation. Further elements sometimes emerge in my creative process and are revealed via field recording, sound collage, sampling, and voice. The majority of all sounds are processed through digital and analog effects, weaving layers of lush soundscapes into an aural tapestry. The aesthetics of abstraction, surrealism, and minimalism are all present within the flux of my creation.

As a listener, you will be bathed in washes of ambient, experimental, and psychedelic sensory input. My live happenings range from audio-only experiences to multi-sensory stimuli, and I sometimes invite guest artists to join me as dancers and sound makers. I often emphasize installation and site-specific immersive works. You will notice a heavy use of delay and sonic looping in my pieces, creating a sense of time distortion that ripples through your mind and enables you (if you desire) to journey into a seemingly altered reality. Moss of Ancients confronts the audience, asking them to question what music and performance-based art mean in our contemporary society. In this light, many of my intentions embrace performance as rites of passage, ritual, transformation, and healing.
