The Mystic Wildwood

What does it mean to become a steward of the land, a caretaker of the forest, or a guardian of nature? A long journey has brought my partner and me to this moment in space and time. In the summer of 2023, we became the caretakers of a small section of southern Adirondack conifer forest and wetland ~ 12 acres of forest bathing and nature-walking bliss. A land where balsam fir, scotch pine, and white pines soar from the moss-covered forest floor and the air is always scented like earth and incense.

Above it all on a gentle sloping ridge a boulder with a microscopic world.

As we learn about this land’s wisdom and diverse offerings, I will share with you some of my realizations, findings, and visions through various artistic practices. I’ve begun an invigorating personal journey here, profoundly feeling the alchemy of fertile ground and creativity brewing just beneath the surface of this earth. Nature immersion has always been a source of my creativity and spirituality, and for the first time in nearly 20 years, I get to cultivate a plan for my art and spiritual practice, both inspired by and immersed in this forested nest we call The Mystic Wildwood.
